Hamilton Waterfront Master Plan
The West Hamilton Harbour Waterfront Recreation Master Plan set out to define and clarify planning design guidelines that will shape the development of buildings and landscapes of the west harbour for the foreseeable future. Balancing the recreational, ecological and marine function of the West Harbour, the Master Plan established a waterfront vision which built upon the City of Hamilton’s Setting Sail policies as well as the stakeholder and public input received during this master planning process.
Key ideas included in the master plan are public access along the water’s edge, a multiple waterfront trail system, vibrant and active public spaces and a coherent waterfront precinct with a consistent design language.
The West Hamilton Harbour Waterfront Recreation Master Plan was presented and accepted by City of Hamilton council in April 2010.
