Martin Goodman Trail

DTAH, in joint venture with West 8, have undertaken the design and construction of 3km of the Martin Goodman Trail between Stadium Road and Parliament Street. Construction of the trail on Queens Quay, between Spadina and Bay Streets was completed in June 2015.  In addition to interim improvements are being constructed to the East and to the West, the trail will connect and complete the previously interrupted Martin Goodman Trail across the City, providing a safe and direct, off-street recreational path across Toronto’s Central Waterfront.

The Martin Goodman Trail is designed as an integral part of Queens Quay Revitalization and the Central Waterfront Master Plan. As part of the works on Queens Quay, the public right-of-way was reconfigured to increase and improve space for cyclists, pedestrians and transit users on the street, including enhanced paving at intersections, bike boxes and specialized signalization. The completed Martin Goodman Trail provides a 4m wide asphalt path, bordered on either side by a granite promenade, an allée of trees, custom benches and lighting and ample bicycle parking.
