Rideau Fifth & Clegg Crossing named Flora Footbridge

On July 11, 2018, City of Ottawa Council voted to name the Rideau Fifth & Clegg Crossing "Flora Footbridge" after the late Flora MacDonald, Canada's first female foreign minister. Learn more

The Flora Footbridge features a 125m span across the Rideau Canal, providing a much needed new multi-use pathway connection between the residential communities on each side. Led by WSP, with DTAH as the bridge and landscape architects, the design attempts to maximize lightness and transparency in order to integrate into the World Heritage Site context as seamlessly as possible. The footbridge is scheduled to be complete in summer 2019.
