Join us Thursday, November 29, for the first public meeting for the Baker District redevelopment in Guelph. The open houses will run from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Co-operators Hall at River Run Centre, 35 Woolwich Street. The content for both sessions is the same, and a short presentation will be made at the start of each open house.

Windmill Development Group is leading the Baker District project, which will be developed as a One Planet Living community. The development team, led by Windmill, includes Diamond Schmidt Architects, DTAH, and Urban Equation Corporation. The companies, who have successfully worked together before, are working closely with the City and Guelph Public Library to arrive at a final plan for the development which includes two distinct mixed-use residential buildings, a new public library, and prominent public plaza. The Downtown Secondary Plan envisions the Baker District redevelopment becoming a model of urban intensification that drives visitors to the downtown and encourages business to thrive within its boundaries by combining residential and commercial/institutional spaces.
