DTAH were selected as part of a larger team led by ARUP for the Eglinton East LRT. The overall project is being planned as an easterly extension of the Crosstown LRT, from Kennedy Station along Eglinton Avenue East, Kingston Road and Morningside Avenue to the University of Toronto, Scarborough Campus (UTSC). In early 2016, the Eglinton East LRT was identified as a key part of Scarborough's Rapid Transit Network along with Scarborough Subway Extension and SmartTrack, to improve accessibility to local destinations and support the development of complete communities. The Eglinton East LRT would provide improved local transit access to over 40,000 residents who live within walking distance of the corridor. It will bring rapid transit to five Neighbourhood Improvement Areas, and two university campuses - University of Toronto Scarborough Campus and Centennial College Morningside Campus.

The LRT project will improve urban design and the public realm, and encourage growth along designated avenues. The LRT will also encourage economic development and social development. As part of the larger project, the ARUP and DTAH team will carry out the Traffic Study and University of Toronto Scarborough Campus assignments.
