The official groundbreaking of the Rideau Canal Crossing in Ottawa took place on October 6, 2017 and construction is expected to be completed in approximately two years. The new 125m pedestrian/cyclist bridge will connect Clegg Street in Old Ottawa East to Fifth Avenue in the Glebe. Led by WSP, with DTAH as the bridge and landscape architects, the design attempts to maximize lightness and transparency in order to integrate into the World Heritage Site context as seamlessly as possible. Read more on CBC
