DTAH is excited to be selected as part of a collaborative team to design and implement the infrastructure and integrated public realm that will support future city-building initiatives within Toronto’s Port Lands. The Port Lands Flood Protection and Enabling Infrastructure (PLFPEI) project will play a major role in providing crucial flood protection, creating the new Villiers Island, and unlocking over 800 acres of development land – setting the foundation for a highly sustainable mixed-use community with access to great parks and open spaces along the reconfigured, re-naturalized mouth of the Don River. While fulfilling important access and functional requirements, the new streets will also contribute to the establishment of an overall unique identity for the Port Lands and the future Villiers Island Precinct.
