A Portrait of Canada’s Parliament was recognized earlier this month with a Gold Medal for Best Regional Non-Fiction for Canada-East from the Independent Publisher’s Book Awards, also known as the Ippy Awards. Drawing on DTAH’s long history of landscape and urban design projects in Canada’s National Capital, DTAH Partner Emeritus Robert Allsopp co-authored with Linda Dicaire Chapter 7 – The People’s Park: The Landscape and Urban Plan of Parliament Hill.

Published last year, the book explores the history and architecture of Canada’s iconic Parliament, with original photographs from celebrated architectural photographer William P. McElligott and contributions by architects, conservationists, historians, House of Commons experts and dignitaries.
