DTAH has been selected to lead the Ritson School Redevelopment project! The project is at the heart of Durham Region’s vision for a vibrant new mixed-use community in central Oshawa.

Closed since 2012, the heritage-designated school building will be adaptively reused as a community hub containing office, social service, educational and recreational uses. A new linear park behind the building and open courtyard fronting Ritson Road, both to be designed in conjunction with the school’s renovation, will provide flexible outdoor gathering spaces for future building users, surrounding community residents and guests.

The redevelopment of Ritson School will enhance community well-being, foster stronger neighbourhood connections, and breathe new life into the area. We are excited to collaborate with Durham Region and contribute to the successful revitalization of this beloved community asset.
