The renewed Welcome Centre at Evergreen Brick Works is now open

The Welcome Centre is one of several campus-wide improvements led by DTAH Architects Limited and LGA Architectural Partners in joint venture to enhance visitor experience, accessibility, and on-site programming for people of all ages and abilities - building on the initial revitalization efforts completed in 2010.

The revitalized space supports a more welcoming arrival experience through a new vestibule and generous reception area clad in reclaimed wood, upgraded all-gender washrooms, improved daylighting thanks to a new skylight, and integrated digital displays and interpretive vitrines filled with treasures found on site. The Welcome Centre’s entrance is designed to support a major public art installation by Ojibwa artist Bonnie Devine called The Promise. Fundraising efforts for the work are currently underway.
