Humber Bay Park East is now open to the public
Image: Humber Bay Park EastHumber Bay Park East has reopened following construction of the first phase of major revitalization based on DTAH’s award-winning Humber Bay Park Master Plan.
Located on Toronto’s waterfront at the mouth of Mimico Creek, Humber Bay Park has become a significant ecological refuge and a valued neighbourhood green space. The master plan addresses the park’s aging infrastructure, increased visitor use, and the evolving needs of the surrounding community while enhancing the park’s naturalized landscape and ecological functions.
The first phase of the master plan implementation delivers key park enhancements, including a linear wetland created from the existing stormwater pond to improve water circulation, new habitat plantings, and new boardwalks and bridges. Additional planting is ongoing, and site furnishings will be installed in the coming months.
Guided by extensive community engagement, the park revitalization supports a richer visitor experience while strengthening the ecological health and resilience of this important waterfront destination.
